Making me knew
Glory to God.
I feel like my life has been in complete transformation the last couple of years. Its through his power that I have found strength to want to change. Many of the things I grew up believing are being challenged and rebuilt on a firm foundation. His love for me has become a lot more realistic and my constant need for an outside approval has become a lot less relevant.
We all have major turning points, depending on what happens in our lives, and mine was in 2009 when I met Raf.
Relationships are not as much for self happiness as they are for our sanctification. Over the summer we went to Haiti and experienced the needs of a hurting world. Our mission quickly became much less about us, but what God can do through us. Every night I remember climbing to the roof of the orphanage we were staying and looking up at God. He was in the fading sun set, the misty rain, the near by villages, the jungle, in the stars, and all around me in the crying voices of a hurting country. Even in the most ugly and painful place, His presence was overwhelming.
We hope for our journey to take us to a place that brings him ALL the glory. I am letting go of all my self efforts. I will be letting go all my life. And holding on to the truth that the ultimate goal of life is for God to be displayed as glorious because of all that He is.
The snow granted me a lot of thinking time. Having all your plans/routines suddenly come to a hold has allowed me time to really stop and listen. Listen to the voice of God in everything around me. He is all that I need and is faithful in giving me a life of Joy. This video captures the beauty in the simplicity around me and I am taking it all in.
